Seed Fund

Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund (OSCF)

The Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund is a state-appropriated investment fund that provides concept, seed and start-up equity investments to the state’s innovative businesses.  The fund looks for opportunities that show promise of rapid growth in terms of revenue, increased employment and increased private investment capital in Oklahoma companies.  Investment terms are typically convertible debt or preferred equity.  Investment decisions involve a rigorous due diligence process.

  • Concept investments typically range from $50,000 to $200,000 and require participating co-investors.
  • Seed investments are typically less than $500,000 and require participating co-investors.

How the Oklahoma Seed Capital Fund Works
To be eligible for the Seed Fund, an entrepreneur must be at the concept, seed or start-up stage. i2E seeks firms that have the potential to become high growth and contribute to the ongoing economic growth of the state.

Investments are focused on industry sectors with advanced technologies and proprietary products, processes, and/or know-how (e.g. advanced materials, aerospace, agri-sciences, biotechnology, communications technologies, energy, information technology, medical devices, nanotechnology, robotics, etc.)

More about eligibility or funding criteria can be found in our FAQs.

Companies applying for or receiving concept or seed capital financing are encouraged to engage with i2E’s Venture Advisory Service professionals as early as possible when considering raising capital.  These services include access to our Executives-in-Residence program.

The use of funds depends on each company’s business plan. This may include such activities as developing intellectual property, completing market assessments, implementing business operations, and recruiting key members of the management team.
